3 Nutritious but Most Despised Vegetables

Do you hate eating vegetables?  Do you prefer to eat food made from meat, fish or fruits?

Despite, the proven fact that vegetables can be good to one's health, some people avoid eating them for various reasons. Some dislike a vegetable because of its taste while others despise it because of its appearance. Searching the internet for a list of the most hated vegetables would yield different results and diverse opinions.

Here's my own list of the 3 most hated vegetables that some people avoid and why they are the least favorite of some folks. The list is based on various surveys on the internet and only shows the most commonly mentioned  vegetables.

Brussels Sprouts

My humble research seems to indicate that brussels sprouts are the most hated vegetable. Depending on their size, age and how they are cooked, brussels sprouts can have an unpleasant taste that some people may detect. "They are bitter", according to some people but that would largely depend on how they are cooked (or overcooked) according to another group of people. There are people who actually love eating brussels sprouts.

Parsnips

The parsnip, a vegetable related to the carrot and parsley, is the second most hated vegetable in my list.  Being inexpensive,  parsnips have been  associated with the poor (and even with the pig) and have been looked down. They are usually cooked but some people eat them raw.

Some people dislike the parsnip because of its odor and sweetness. Some even say that they don't like it because of its form and shape. There are also those who find no reason to dislike it.

Eggplant

The eggplant, a very common vegetable, is the third most despised vegetable in  my list despite the fact that it is considered one of the healthiest foods in the world. Like the brussels sprouts and the parsnips, there are people who like the eggplant and those who hate it. Some find it bitter and dislike its texture.
