New Video Idea - My Time Travelling RC Buggy

The  first scene in this video shows me holding my HSP RC buggy with an attached SJ4000 camera. I am alone in a vacant lot where I will perform a scientific experiment. I already have setup my camera and tripod to record this historic event. The plan is to send the RC buggy one week ahead in the future where (or when ) my older self will wait for it in the same spot that it will disappear.

After the toy disappears  and goes to the future, my younger self will go home and go back exactly one week later to retrieve it, check it and watch the video that the attached camera recorded from the time that it disappeared to the moment that it appeared again in the vacant lot. Unlike in the Back to the Future movie, there is no way for the toy to go back where or more exactly, when it came from. The 2.4 Ghz radio transmitter and receiver will probably "disassociate" from each other and I would therefore need to be back on time a week later to ensure that I can restore the link immediately. If the toy crashes on something or someone, I will be there to apologize and perhaps pay for the damages that this time travel experiment might cause.

Of course, this is just a video. I do not have the means, resources and the skill to build a time machine. This is just an interesting way to express my thoughts and imagination. I also show the uncertainties involved and the potential dangers  that time travelers will have to face. There is no way for them to know precisely where they would land or appear in the future. The exact spot where they would appear could be life-threatening in the future.

A possible solution is to invent a device that can see the past and future just like in the movie Deja Vu and Time Lapse. Before actually going to the past or future, a time traveler will need to check the situation first by using such a device. This will ensure that his travel will not be dangerous by canceling, postponing or rescheduling it if the future situation is not safe.

I will still have to create the actual video for this script.

3D Spray Bottles

I placed these 3D spray bottles from Element 3D into this video with the use of Adobe After Effects.Compare the original video to see the difference.

A Strange-looking Car

This one of my practice videos. As you can see, the video still needs some improvement, the 3D object used (the car in this case) is "shaky". I need to perfect camera tracking and also color correction/matching.

A Damaged Robot

I placed this 3D robot into a video using After Effects,Element 3D and a trick called "camera tracking". The 3D object used was downloaded from http://tf3dm.com and is the Quad Bot 3D model that was submitted by ysup12 three years ago.

A Giant Hexbug in an Old Looking Footage

Another scene created with Adobe After Effects and Pinnacle Studio.

My New Toy Car

Another attempt to put an object into a video footage using green screen techniques. Fo this video, I used a cheap DIY "green screen" (a green curtain, actually) and Adobe After Effects. I had to resort, again, to converting my footage to black and white. I find it easier to use this approach when blending an object with a footage. I know this sounds like cheating but I still need to learn how to do it the right way.

Animated Horse in a Video Footage

I used a 3d model from a software package (Iclone) and placed it into a video footage. This one does not make use of camera tracking.

Floating Chess Board Video

This is another attempt to use camera tracking in Adobe After Effects. I also like to use planar tracking next time...

Fake Missile Video on YouTube

I am still trying to learn Adobe After Effects. I used the camera tracking tool in AE to create this video.

Little People

This is my new video on YouTube. It shows a group of tiny people walking on grass and on the street. I used a "chroma key" trick to make the video.
